Went to see Tune-Yards last night at Cargo and there were plenty moments of pure pure brilliance.   There was African style vocal riffs layered up (which got a bit repetitive after a while), and loop pedals which kind of meant most songs have to be set up in the same way so structure can get a little similar too but apart from that all was good. Her song  'Real Live Flesh'  was played so unassumingly but so dirrrrrrrty as well (video below just not the same, but maybe you can get an idea), like the girl in Welcome to the Dollhouse singing Sly Stone ... A-mazing. She had an amazing bassist who just bounced around and smiled, singing the words under his breath (too cute!). Setting up the loops vocally is massively hard and her tuning (har..) was so good and so right on all of it just flowed so well, allowing her to really let rip over the top with her belty melodies that she performed like Prince in Moominland.

Picture of bassist, think you get a really strong idea of how great he was (he's the one on the left):

More on Moomins: Did you know BJORK is doing the music for the new film. Not many better things in life I do not think.
